SiNAPSA Neuroscience Conference '09
with Educational Workshop on Memory
September 26-29 2009, Ljubljana, Slovenia
About the conference
Like its two predecessors (in 2005 and 2007) the SiNAPSA Neuroscience Conference '09 is aiming to be an international event providing the neuroscientists in Slovenia and neighbouring countries with an opportunity to present their research and possibly set up new collaboration. Particular attention will be paid to multidisciplinary research and to the promotion of open scientific communication among junior researchers. The conference will include plenary talks, invited lectures in thematic symposia and poster sessions.
The basic structure of the conference is a string of independent but related symposia, chosen from the contributions to an open call for thematic symposia, which should cover basic neurobiology (including molecular neurobiology, neurochemistry and animal model work), developmental and adult neurology, psychiatry, psychology, cognitive science and cognitive neuroscience.
The final program will be shaped in response to an open call for abstracts, planned for January 2009. Contributions from all fields of neuroscience including but not limited to the themes of the symposia are welcome. Most submissions will be accepted for poster presentation. However, a selected few will also be considered for inclusion into existing symposia as short oral presentations.
The Conference will be accompanied by an Educational workshop on Memory primarily designed for psychiatry and neurology residents and clinical psychologists in training.
The organizers are hoping to secure sufficient funding to provide a number of travel grants for students and junior scientists from Central and Eastern Europe and other less privileged regions.
The organizers are able to provide a small number of travel grants for students and junior scientists from Central and Eastern Europe and other less privileged regions. Please, use the application form to submit your application for the travel grant.
